I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over!
My goal as a wedding photographer is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images!
Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience..... shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! My goal is to not only capture memories for my clients, it’s to create an experience that they will never forget.
the process
One way I ensure that brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with the couple.
I try my best to make sure that all of my couples are the PERFECT fit before officially booking.
A bride and groom should connect with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera so that they are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a safe and relaxed environment for photography!

An engagement session is included in all wedding day pricing with the exception of micro wedding pricing.
Most couples need time to get used to being photographed and to understand how I pose. Timelines can be tight on wedding days, and we may only have 15-minutes for portraits - which is why I've found that couples who do engagement sessions beforehand have much better wedding day portraits.
Engagement sessions also allow you to show your personalities in a more relaxing environment that is significant to the two of you (and also include pets!). While they're great for save-the-dates, I've taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months before the wedding to a few days before.

Macalee was very professional, on time, organized, experienced, and fun! My husband does not enjoy getting his photo taken, but he was comfortable behind Macalee's lense.
She was open to any ideas we had but also had lots ideas to share with us. With Macalee, I did not have to worry about the photography part of our wedding. Also, I loved how she includes an engagement session in her packages. It was probably our favorite part! We even had several sneak peeks the day after our wedding!

In addition to capturing our photos, Macalee also designed our save the date, sign in book, and helped me order larger canvases to ensure they came in how I wanted them too. I could rave about Macalee for days. She went above and beyond to capture this special moments in our lives and I couldn’t imagine our wedding without her. I can’t wait to use her in the future.
