What an amazing day for a wedding in March! Taylor and Mattie’s day was perfect right down to the weather! It was a beautiful, sunny and warm with a slight breeze. After the rainy week we had in Lubbock it was like God stopped the rain just long enough for a beautiful wedding day! Just perfect!
I arrived at the Historic Baker Building around noon and headed up to the bridal suite to say hello. Everyone was relaxed, having fun hanging out and getting their makeup and hair done! Mattie was absolutely radiant and full of joy while getting ready for the beautiful wedding she’d been dreaming of for months! I love getting to be part of the pure magic of wedding preparation at the Baker. Vanessa, the owner of the Baker, and Julie, the owner of Eventfully Yours, have the best teams and are so great to work with. I always feel confident knowing it’s going to be a fun and smooth wedding day when I get to work with them!
The energy from the very beginning of the day was so contagiously joyful. The bridesmaids, family and every single guest were full of happiness and anticipation for Taylor and Mattie to FINALLY be husband and wife. Taylor and Mattie are high school sweethearts and are truly meant for one another, they are so in love and I have enjoyed getting to know them both from the first meeting I had with Mattie to their wedding day. I truly felt so lucky to witness it and capture the joy as it unfolded. It was wonderful in every single way!!! I have to confess my favorite part of the day was Taylor and Mattie’s first look. It was so incredibly sweet! I loved that they exchanged letters and read them while holding hands after Taylor got to see his beautiful bride for the first time on their wedding day. Everyone was in tears, including me! Aside from the grand wedding ceremony processional at the Baker, that is always so amazing to witness, my second favorite part of the day was getting to pull Taylor and Mattie out for some sunset portraits with the blooming Bradford Pear trees. We asked two brave groomsmen, one being Mattie’s older brother, to come along as our wonderful assistants in shaking some of the trees to allow the white petals to fall. This turned out to be a bit more of a job than we had planned, but it was worth it! The falling petals turned out so dreamy in their portraits!!! We definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it without them! Thank you again, guys (if you are reading this)!
Taylor and Mattie: Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for including me in your special day! It was a joy to witness and work with you both – and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start out my 2020 wedding season than with you two! I hope you adore this post of my favorite images as much as I adore you both!
