Lavender Summer Wedding at Spirit Ranch

From the Archives

DUSTY + JOYEE

This beautiful Spirit Ranch wedding was an absolute joy! I loved getting to know Dusty and Joyee and their story. The day was perfect, and this will always be one of my favorites.

This gorgeous Summer wedding was held at one of my favorite venues in Lubbock, Spirit Ranch. If you have never had the pleasure, it is like a little oasis and break from the flat farmland of the South Plains, and makes for one heck of a backdrop for an outdoor wedding!

This wedding was the last wedding I photographed before I became a mother. Personally, this was a special wedding because I had Brynn with me about 7 months along! There is something about that feeling that brings me so much joy even though my back and feet were killing me by the end of the evening! #pregnantphotographerproblems (ha!)

When I arrived at Spirit Ranch the wedding prep was in full speed. The indoor reception was almost completely decorated, and beautifully I might add. Joyee and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the small house across the field and everyone was so positive throughout the preparation of the day.

After photographing the details and the bridesmaids getting ready, it was time for a perfect first look! If you are reading this as a bride and wondering about a first look, 100% do it. It is so worth it and if you have questions shoot me an email and I will tell you all of the reasons why! I am planning a blog post about first looks and I will update this post once I have it published.

Dusty and Joyee’s first look was picked so that Spirit Ranch’s beautiful stream that runs through the property was in the background. This time was so special. After we took photos Dusty and Joyee were able to just enjoy each other for a few moments on their wedding (because that’s what it’s all about, right?).

Even if I wasn’t 7 months pregnant and emotional, I would have still been emotional during their beautiful ceremony. Dusty and Joy both said and signed their vows to each other and family members in attendance. This was so very special. The setting under the beautiful lush trees, late summer weather, and the friendly peacocks in attendance were an added bonus to one of the sweetest ceremonies I have photographed.

The evening continued with happiness and love for Dusty and Joyee. The blessings of friends and family rounded out the picturesque evening. After three years, looking back on this beautiful wedding I still love it and am so thankful for Dusty and Joyee and families for including me on this special day!

I hope you enjoy this wedding as much as I did!
