Winter Studio Session | Lubbock Family Photography

The Nobles | Studio Family Session

Hey guys! I’m back again with another family session. This time we’re going to be talking about a studio family session. A lot of people have been asking me what it’s like to work in a studio environment. It’s definitely different than working outside because you have less space and things are more confined, but there are some benefits as well! In this post, I’ll go over those differences and hopefully help you make an informed decision about whether or not it’s right for your family.

I LOVE a good studio session.

I love studio sessions for so many reasons. They allow me to capture your family in their natural setting, and I can capture those moments that are unique only to your family. Plus in Lubbock, Texas 50% of the year there is a chance the weather is not ideal – where beautiful naturally lit studio sessions come in. Bridals, Family, Senior, kiddos, even larger families all can be done in a studio and look amazing!

What is the best way to prepare for a studio session?

Proper preparation is key when it comes to having a successful portrait session! Here’s what you should do:

  • Familiarize yourself with my style and portfolio before booking. This will help you determine if we’re a good fit for each other and give us time to discuss expectations, ideas, etc.
  • Come prepared with outfits/props/etc., so we don’t waste any time during the actual shoot trying on outfits or searching through props — instead, we’ll be able to spend more time shooting!
  • Bring any specific requests along with clothing recommendations (color scheme? items that coordinate well together). If there’s anything special about your child (such as birthday party attire), please let me know what that might be so I can plan accordingly!

Studio sessions are my jam! I love how easy they are and the amount of creativity that goes into them. The best part is that you can do anything in a studio, so if you want to try something new or want inspiration for your next session, look no further than this post!
