An Autumn Oaks Wedding in June

On Friday, I walked into the beautiful wedding and reception venue, Autumn Oaks Event Center located south of Wolforth, Texas, where the girls and guys were getting ready. Immediately after walking in I could hear the buzz of the bridesmaids to the right and guys hanging out to the left. The bridal party was in their matching shirts with their hair and makeup done to perfection. I walked in to check in with Kelsey and had to ask for the story behind a photograph she requested, “the trifecta”, and this was so cool I had to share: the bride Kelsey, and two bridesmaids, Morgan, and Morgan-Kelsey, all met each other either at church camp or through mutual friends, then they became college roommates and best friends. I was introduced to all six of her sweet bridesmaids and I just knew that it was going to be a good day! I already felt so loved and welcomed. I am so blessed to get to work with the BEST brides!

It was a HOT, June afternoon with a small chance of rain. The rain held until we finished pictures after the ceremony. Even though we didn’t get the magnificent West Texas sunset for Brendan and Kelsey’s portraits, we were blessed with a rare backdrop of beautiful rain clouds rolling in. I shot the groomsmen and bridesmaids getting ready their formals separately, a sweet first look with Kelsey and her father, and before we knew it, it was time for them to get married! I loved so many things about their ceremony. I loved that the rain held and we had great light, I loved that her three-year-old niece and flower girl made faces at the bride and groom making them giggle, and I loved watching Brendan stare at Kelsey throughout the whole ceremony.

Brendan and Kelsey have such a sweet relationship. I loved capturing them with their best friends but my favorite part of the day was taking portraits of just the two of them and allowing them to have a few minutes together, away from the crowds. Their wedding day was so beautiful and now they’re at Disney World for their honeymoon!! I’m not going to lie, Disney World sounds like a FUN honeymoon!

Brendan and Kelsey love the Lord, they love their families and it was VERY obvious that they love their friends. They were surrounded by their friends from college, childhood, siblings, and cousins, etc. It’s so special to have all of the people that you love in ONE place! As I captured their day, I couldn’t help but think about how much of an honor it is to spend the day with them!
