A TEXAS TECH AND RANSOM CANYON SUMMER ENGAGEMENT SESSION

MARTY + ANNA

Last Saturday, I met Marty and Anna for the first time in person. We had spoken over the phone prior to that and I really enjoyed our conversation, so I knew it was going to be a fun session. They were absolute naturals in front of the camera and did so great picking out their outfits for the session. Anna is a professor at Texas Tech and Marty is an Alum, so it made perfect sense to take some on the Texas Tech University campus. We found some amazing light and great architecture that Tech has to offer. Marty and Anna are both such interesting people and are so full of life! They are absolutely perfect for one another and balance in personality so well!

My husband always says that I have something relatable to just about everyone I know, and to be honest it’s kind of true. Texas is a big state, but when you have lived in small towns all over the state and taught 1000+ students in Lubbock at two districts, you learn that you are related to, know the same people, or have worked with, taught, or have some type of connection. This happened to be the case at Marty and Anna’s engagement session. Marty’s family lived in good ole’ Honey Grove, Texas (where my family has lived for generations) before moving out to West Texas, and a few other connections as well. In addition to that Marty is quite the musician and I’m not sure if you have heard of the Kinky Wizards, but you probably have heard them if you have gone out and listened to live music in Lubbock at any point in the last 20 years!

Anna has one of the coolest jobs on the planet! She teaches Anthropology at Texas Tech and spends her summers researching in South America and all over the U.S. the stories and history she discovers are so intriguing! My husband and I are still trying to figure out why she needs two assistants who know absolutely nothing to go along and help her on her research!

As far as our engagement session, we had hot (it’s the middle of July) but great weather otherwise and headed to Ransom Canyon for their second location, and the light was so beautiful! I also got to meet their sweet pup! This is an amazing couple and I cannot wait to celebrate with them and capture their wedding day in September!!

Enjoy some of my favorites!
