A Hometown Summer Wedding | Olton, Texas

MATTHEW + NATALIE

Around twelve years ago, as a junior at Olton High School, I remember meeting Natalie for the first time along with her younger siblings Audra Beth and Jack, as their babysitter. After getting to know Natalie more, along with Audra and Jack – I quickly realized that she was one of the most personable and confident little girls I had ever met. During that season of life, I honestly never envisioned that I would potentially be photographing one of their weddings… but here I am… and I feel so incredibly honored!!

It was an absolute JOY to be with Matthew and Natalie on their wedding day this past Friday on FLAG DAY! They were married at Natalie’s hometown church, the First Baptist Church in Olton, Texas! The June West Texas weather came and went and happened to give us the PERFECT overcast skies (like a big softbox!) for portraits and first looks! The florals were insanely beautiful and other than the minor wind and rain that passed quickly – everything went as planned. The day started with the girls getting ready at the church chatting and having fun. We started with bride and groom details, hanging out in the Sunday school room with the girls – then before we knew it, it was game time!!

It seems like just yesterday I was getting to know Matthew during their engagement session. However, after experiencing their incredible wedding and spending an entire day together…. I am probably one of Matthew’s biggest fans! (And that’s saying a lot because he has a ton of good friends!) Mathew is thoughtful, genuine, well spoken, well-loved and incredibly kind. His love for Natalie is so evident in every interaction with her. He was so excited, and a little nervous, to see Natalie before their first look as he should be! He thinks the world of her and because of that, I think the world of him. I love Natalie’s family and want the absolute best for them… and it’s evident that Matthew is the best. Watching Natalie marry such an incredible guy brings me so much joy.

The entire day was such an honor to be a part of. From the moment I walked in the door to the end of the night when we hugged goodbye, I loved being there. I love capturing beautiful images of GORGEOUS people but really, what I loved even more, was watching Troy and Paula experience such a huge milestone with their first baby. It made me teary multiple times throughout the day because I can’t help but try to imagine what this day will feel like for us when Brynn is getting married. It gives me a whole new perspective on the day and how special it is to not just the bride and groom but to the parents as well. I could go on and on about how much I love this family and how perfect their day was.

Matthew and Natalie, you are an incredible couple. Your love for one another and for other people was shining so brightly throughout your entire wedding day. I couldn’t love you more and can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be the one to save the memories of your big day!!!! Enjoy!!
